Almost...

I almost got pictures up last night, but had to pack a suitcase for a weekend trip to Valpo for a wedding.

Rease almost slept through the night last night! She made it until about 4:45, which is pretty good. She did stir around about 1:30 but I gave her pacifier and she went right to sleep. I still figured I would get in bed and she would be awake about 5 minutes later, but nope. She didn't make it til 5:30 when we usually get her up but 4:45 is close enough for me to get excited! Since we are going out of town I know it probably won't happen again, because her sleep is always messed up for about a week once we go out of town. In fact, between going home for Labor Day, teething, and an ear infection her sleep hasn't been her "normal" in a while. Maybe we will replace the old "normal" with sleeping through the night? Could I be so lucky? I doubt it....

For now I am off to do my hair, pack a lunch, and finish packing for the weekend! Have a great day!

Pearly Whites

As of yesterday Rease's first tooth is officially all the way in! The entire top has broken through the gum and is SHARP! She was a pretty happy camper throughout the teething experience, I am hoping the rest of her teeth will be just as smooth! I haven't gotten a picture yet, because her tongue is always in the way. I think she bit her tongue or something last night. She was sitting there happy as can be playing with a toy and chewing on her fingers and then just started screaming. I guess she is still getting used to that super sharp tooth hanging around in her mouth.

She did get an ear infection this week so I got to stay home with her yesterday while we met the 24 hours of antibiotics and 24 hours without a fever rule. It was great. Not great that she was sick and not feeling 100%, but great that I got to stay home with her. It just happened to be on a day when the neighbor was cutting 2 trees down so she wouldn't nap in her crib much. Which I am a little bummed about because I really wanted to lay down and take a nap too, oh well.

Rease has also decided that she is too cool to sleep on her back anymore. Friday night she decided that since she could roll over she needed to sleep on her stomach. She is hilarious. She rolls over and instead of pushing her arm out from under her she grabs the slat of the crib and pulls up her whole chest and then just rolls her arm out. Seems like more effort than it is worth if you ask me, I would just wiggle my arm out.

We borrowed Laura's exersaucer and Rease is having a ball. Until she tried to put one of the toys in her mouth and she just sits there and bangs herself in the head with it. She also has figured out where the tv is and will squirm around and roll over until she is in perfect view of it. And that is why Chris and I pretty much only watch TV after she is in bed, if we watch any at all.

I have some pictures to post, but probably won't get them up until tonight. I just wanted to tell you all the good news on the dental front!

Who Knew??

Updated to include brand names :)

Who knew that sending a different brand of bottle (Phillips Avent) to daycare would cause Rease to eat twice her normal amount??

Wednesday all of the "normal" (Gerber Nuk) bottles I usually send with Rease to daycare were dirty. So I sent her with another brand that we have had for a while but never used. I picked her up that day and all three of the bottles were sitting on her shelf EMPTY! That has only happend once before. I said, "Huh?" and the teachers just laughed, I didn't even have to point at the bottles or anything. They said, "We thought the same thing, we couldn't believe she ate all of them". So I sent them yesterday and she drank them all again. So today I put in 5.5 ounces in each one so we will see if they are empty when I pick her up. (She rarely drank more than 3 ounces in the other bottles).

I feel kind of like we were starving her! Oops!!!

4 Months and the Latest Happenings

Rease turned 4 months old yesterday! I know I say this every month, but I have no idea how she grows so fast and how in the world can it be 4 months already?!

She felt like doing something really special to commemorate her turning the big 4 months, so yesterday she ROLLED OVER from her back to her belly. She has bee so close to doing this for well over a month but always gets distracted by her thumb before she gets all the way over. :) She also rolled over from her belly to her back today. Both were done with much ease, so either she has just been waiting on Chris and I to put the video camera away before she did it, or she has been doing it at day care for days and they are just too nice to tell us. I ask every day though, so hopefully they aren't lying. :)

Rease spent her entire 3rd month of life drooling like a fool and learning how to chew on everything in site. She is very good at finding what she wants and getting it to her mouth in a hurry. Sometimes she even finds things she shouldn't want and tries to get them to her mouth too, Colby's tail for instance. Thankfully I had her on my lap at that point and stopped that one quickly. Yuck. All this being said because this morning I could feel the beginnings of a tooth. Her bottom right one to be exact. She has been chomping on our fingers for weeks, but today in church it felt very sharp and pokey. So, Rease is also starting to get her 1st tooth. Big events are taking place around here!

Other than that she has started to babble and shriek and carry on pretty much all of the time. She has the cutest, high-pitched squeal. We love it and crack up whenever we hear it. We have also tried to get a decent video of her talking and squealing, but like the rolling over, she will not do it when the video camera is on. I guess we aren't raising a movie star. Lol.

Rease also thinks the best position to be in is sitting up. She is pulling herself whenever she gets the chance to. Whenever she is in her carseat she is always straining so hard to try and get herself up, too bad that harness is always in the way! She does the same thing in her swing. She grabs on to the metal sides and looks like she is trying to do a pull up or something. It is hilarious.

She also loves her feet! She can't get them to her mouth yet, but she yanks and yanks on them. It is amazing how easy she entertains herself!

Her 4 month shots went great, Chris took her this time. She also got her 1st cold this week. Yuck. She has been sleeping in her swing for the last few nights because that was the only place she wouldn't cough. We moved her back to her crib tonight (with her matress elevated), so let's hope the coughing stays away.

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks. Some have comments some don't.

Enjoy!

The Corwin Family on Labor Day

Chris had a little Rease photo shoot the other day, but for some reason my
pictures loaded in reverse order on here. She was
happy in the beginning and a little not so happy
at the end, so enjoy them in reverse!
The Many Faces of Rease

The Paula Deen cinnamon rolls I made a while back, man
they were AWESOME. As requested, recipe is below.

Rease's favorite place to sleep.....our bed.

Riley aiding in giving Rease a bath over Labor Day.

Do you like the strategically placed bath toys?
Thank Abrah for that one.
No embarrasing pictures for Riley when he is older.
And Abrah will have to post about the big bandage/plastic bag on his hand.

AND SERIOUSLY, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH HER HAIR!?!?

Cinnamon Rolls
Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
Prep Time: 20 min
Inactive Prep Time: 1 hr
Cook Time: 30 min
Serves: 12 to 15 servings

Dough:
1/4-ounce package yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup scalded milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter or shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
Filling:
1/2 cup melted butter, plus more for pan
3/4 cup sugar, plus more for pan
2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
3/4 cup raisins, walnuts, or pecans, optional
Glaze:
4 tablespoons butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 to 6 tablespoons hot water
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside. In a large bowl mix milk, sugar, melted butter, salt and egg. Add 2 cups of flour and mix until smooth. Add yeast mixture. Mix in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Knead dough on lightly floured surface for 5 to 10 minutes. Place in well-greased bowl, cover and let rise until doubled in size, usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
When doubled in size, punch down dough. Roll out on a floured surface into a 15 by 9-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter all over dough. Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over buttered dough. Sprinkle with walnuts, pecans, or raisins if desired. Beginning at the 15-inch side, role up dough and pinch edge together to seal. Cut into 12 to 15 slices.
Coat the bottom of baking pan with butter and sprinkle with sugar. Place cinnamon roll slices close together in the pan and let rise until dough is doubled, about 45 minutes. Bake for about 30 minutes or until nicely browned. Meanwhile, mix butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add hot water 1 tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches desired consistency. Spread over slightly cooled rolls.

Some pictures....comments to follow

She really likes the little monkey rattle that is barely visible in the corner. I kept
trying to get her attention and she was ignoring me :( I think
she was trying to figure out how she could get to it.
"Give me the monkey, I want to eat him!"

Finally starting to somewhat enjoy tummy time. Maybe one
day she will actually roll over. :)

I think she has the biggest eyes on the planet..........

Another shot of her HUGE eyes!

4:30 and tired...........

Rease has yet to sleep through the night, which is no big deal. Since I am gone all day I don't really mind getting up to feed her that one time during the night....... As long as that one time isn't 4:30! Usually she has eaten by 2:00 or 2:30 and last night when I rolled over and looked at the clock and it was 2:33 and she wasn't awake I thought to myself "maybe this will be the night that Rease sleeps all the way through, til 5:30"....so I rolled over and went to bed. She woke up about 4:20 and was fussing and I could hear her chewing on everything in site. She likes to roll her face over in her crib and try to eat the sheets when she is really hungry. So I got up, hoping that I could feed her just enough to get her to go back to sleep for another hour and I could sneak in another 20 minutes of sleep before I had to get up. Nope....she ate a little and then was wide awake. I finally got her to go to sleep about 4:55..... By that time it was time for me to get up and get around to make it to work on time. This wouldn't have been that bad if I wasn't at the grocery store until 9:30 last night and then standing at the sink for 30 minutes washing bottles and pump accessories. **Seriously I don't know how non-breastfeeders can stand to wash all of those bottles! I HATE it!** I finally made it to bed about 10:30 and couldn't fall asleep for what seemed like forever. So, I am TIRED!!! It is going to be a long day. My legs feel like lead balloons already! I am so ready for the 3 day weekend

On another, non complaining note.....I promise to get more pictures up tonight or tomorrow.

And, did I forget to mention that today is WOODY'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY WOODY! **I wish I had some embarrassing childhood picture to put up here, but I am at work so this is all I've got.
