I made these muffins yesterday because I had a bunch of going-bad bananas and found the recipe online. Pretty healthy and yummy too.
Banana Bran Muffins
1 1/2 C. wheat bran
1 C. buttermilk
1 1/2 C. mashed bananas
2/3 C. brown sugar
1/4 C. vegetable oil
1 1/2 C. whole wheat flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
soak bran in the buttermilk for about 15 minutes.
mix bananas, sugar, eggs, oil, and bran.
add dry ingredients.
bake 350 for about 20-25 minutes.
makes about 15 muffins.
**make your own buttermilk by using 1 C. milk and adding 1 Tablespoon of vinegar. Let it sit at
room temp for about 15 minutes.....**

Well it is finally finished. Mom and Dad came over this weekend and brought the crib with them. Dad and I spent most of the afternoon on Saturday putting all the pieces together and were able to finish it all up. I think it turned out great. I am really pleased with the finish. We took it over to a business in Kokomo, IN called "The Strip Shop" they do really good work and have really good pricing. They did a nice job of really pulling the grain of the wood out. The curly part of the oak looks great (this is the small lines that look like waves in the finish, it is the wood not the finish)Other than the crib there isn't too much else to report on. Chelsea is doing well and is pretty much ready whenever the baby decides it's time. Here is a picture of my beautiful wife at 37 weeks.

Well, here we are in the home stretch. Yesterday marked one month until our due date. So I guess with only 4 weeks left we should be ready to bring home a baby any time. If only her room was cleaned up and everything together. In time, in time. The crib is coming this weekend so that should help us feel like we have everything a little more together.
This week has been good. We had our weekly doctor's appointment and it was good. We go back on Thursday and hopefully we will be able to get a better feel for her plan of possibly inducing us 1-2 weeks early, etc. We will fill you in on all that after Thursday.
Mom and Dad came over to spend the weekend with us and help around the house. The weather wasn't entirely cooperative, as Dad and Chris were going to work on getting the foundation done for the new shed we bought, but since it rained that didn't happen. They did get the new cabinet hung, that Abrah spotted for us at the Treasure Mart in Kokomo, in the baby's room. So now we have some more storage space. Mom made some sheets for the crib and covers for the changing table. She also brought the dust ruffle for the crib and we went and picked out the backing for the quilt. So the room is nearing completion...finally!
Here is a picture of the belly....I think it is time for bed so I can be rested up for another fun filled day of work tomorrow.....not!

Well we have made it to 35 weeks! Once we get through this week the big day could come at any time and the baby should be pretty well developed. So far Chelsea is doing well and feeling pretty well. She is getting tired more easily though. As you can see that belly is really popping out there. (I love the shadow behind the picture) Last week we went to the dr for the ultra sound and everything "looked great" according to the dr. The baby was weighing in at a hefty 6.0lbs though, not really a surprise since she has been big all along. The dr is going to continue to monitor her size but at this point we are just waiting.
We had a pretty nice weekend this weekend. It was really nice to have Good Friday off. We mainly relaxed, but I was really busy the rest of the weekend. As you will notice in the belly picture, the background is a bit different. This is the new color of our bedroom, which I painted on Saturday. Below is another picture of the bedroom, mostly put back together, but not everything is back in the room.
Today (Easter) was nice, this was the first year that Chelsea and I were not in Indiana for Easter. Although we really missed our family, it was nice to be here and at our church for Easter. It was different hearing the message from a church other than the one that we grew up in and it was also interesting to hear the different message. I thought that pastor White did a really nice job with his message and taking advantage of the fact that this is one of the 2 Sundays a year that most people that do not go to church were in church (the other day being Christmas). It was just a different day for the two of us though. We were able to have Easter dinner with some good friends of ours that we met from over here, the Roehrs and their parents who were in town from Nebraska. Thank you Brian and Ashley for the great dinner.
Also this weekend I took a short class in photography at the local camera shop to find out how to better use this new camera I got. All of the photos I took were after the class and I had implemented a few of the things I learned. I think the pictures turned out pretty decent. Today though, I spent some time detailing and clay baring the Audi to get it cleaned up after a hard winter. I took it down to the local parking lot for a photo shoot and got a few decent shots. So they are below. Well I am going to call it a night, it is going to be rough getting up for work in the morning after having the long weekend.

Week 34 is now upon us and all is well. We didn't do to much this weekend which was nice. I would imagine it was nicer for Chelsea than I, as it now appears as though she is smuggling a basketball under her shirt. I can't imagine what it must be like to walk around like that all the time. We are heading to the Dr. again tomorrow for another ultrasound. This will probably be the last we are told. I am still betting on another (I think the Dr. got a new car and is still making payments via extra ultrasounds.....just kidding, kind of) We will keep it short today and leave it there and try to give an update tomorrow. OH AND I FORGOT, I THOUGHT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPRING!!! IT IS CURRENTLY SNOWING HERE AS I TYPE, 100% RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!
