36 weeks

This pregnancy has flown by.  Chris and I were just talking about how we don't know how it is already November and we will be welcoming the babies so soon!  I guess when you are working and taking care of your other kiddos there isn't much time to sit around and just focus on being pregnant!

I'm about 36 1/2 weeks now and feeling great.  My belly is huge and pretty much any movement is difficult, but besides that I am doing really well.  I was put on medical leave from work about 3 weeks ago and it has been a huge blessing.  I am not technically on bed rest, and was put on leave due to some legalities at work, etc. and not my health so that is a really good thing.  I can still do whatever I feel like doing (which isn't a whole lot) and am able to sleep in a little and take a nap during the day.  Huge blessings for sure.  I also got all of the feeling back in my hand after I stopped working, so that has been really, really awesome.

Both babies are still breech, so we have a c section scheduled for the 26th.  I am terrified of the surgery and still spend a lot of time praying the little girl will turn so I can just delivery them and not need surgery.  But, have a peace about it and know that if we end up in a section it is for a reason and as long as everyone is healthy it doesn't matter how they make their big debut.  Speaking of big, I am really interested to see how big they are.  I think they will both be near 7 pounds, but I could be wrong.  Just my guess.  I personally think it would be awesome if they were both about 8 pounds, but we'll see...I don't think that will happen.

My belly measures about 54 inches around, which is insane and not many clothes fit at all.  If you were to see me at any given time I am pretty sure at least part of my belly would be exposed, I just can't help it!

Here is a picture, only 11 days left!!!!

29 weeks

We are in the single digit weeks until these babies come, I really cannot believe it. Last week I went for my monthly check up at the high risk doctors office. At the time the babies were both measuring over 3 pounds. Woo hoo! Grow babies, grow. The doctor joked that maybe I could have two 8 pounders and make the paper :) I really would not complain one bit if they came out at 8 pounds, but I kind of doubt that is going to happen.

This girl is crazy. Every time I go to the doctor she has decided to move into a position that is not head down. I keep telling her she needs to flip over and stay that way, but she won't have it. For now, it's fine and kind of alright because it means her head isn't putting any weight on my cervix. In a couple more weeks though, I am really praying she moves so that I can avoid a section. The boy is still hanging out transverse across the entire top of my belly. I really don't care how he lays, but maybe he could tell his sister to cooperate :)

My belly is measuring 37 weeks today. It was 35 last time, so I am betting at next week's appointment I will be pretty close to measuring full term with one.

My blood pressure is still good, but I don't think the doctor expects it to stay that way. I am resting as much as I can to try and keep it under control. She said if I can keep it under wraps then she really thinks we will be able to wait until nearly 38 weeks before we deliver. That would be awesome!

Rease has been such a helper lately. She likes to boss me around and remind me that "the doctor and daddy said you shouldn't do that". It is pretty funny. I made French toast for breakfast this morning and she informed me that I shouldn't eat at the table and that I should go back to my bed and lay down and eat. She then proceeded to take my plate and march back to the bedroom. She is quite motherly and entertaining. She got to be the line leader last week at preschool and was so excited that she almost knocked me over telling me when she got home. Thankfully I grabbed the counter just in time, or we both would have ended up in a pile on the floor.

G is still in love with any car, but especially loves Francesco Bernoulli from Cars2. We lost him a couple weekends ago and I looked everywhere for him. I claimed my defeat and bought him a new one, only to find the original the next day. He was so excited, he ran around the house clinging to his cars yelling, "Francesco Bernoulli new one. Two Francesco Bernoulli's!!!!!!"  He is beginning to be a little rotten. Over the weekend Chris walked into the living room and G was standing right behind Rease with his little toy hammer and had his arm up like he was going to whack her in the head. It wouldn't have done any damage so Chris just stood there watching to see what he would do. He must have caught Chris out of the corner of his eye, because he slowly backed up and put the hammer down. He's going to be a handful.

I promise I will make Chris take a picture this week. We have done a really terrible job of that lately.

27 Weeks

Not much has changed since last week.  I had my 27 week appointment on Tuesday and it was okay.  My doctor was in surgery for the day, so I had to see the nurse practitioner.  I haven't seen her since my first OB appointment, so she wasn't exactly up to date on my history, etc.  Because of this, she was really concerned about quite a bit of funneling of my cervix.  At my 25 week appointment I had some funneling too, but the dr wasn't concerned because it was still nearly 5cm long.  This time I had more funneling, but it was still just as long, and the nurse was asking me if I had been on bedrest, etc.  She informed me I needed to go home and rest and she would talk to the doctor in the morning and call me.  Chris and I were all prepared to have me be put on bedrest after talking to the nurse.  Thankfully yesterday the doctor called and she was fine with the way things looked, so nothing has really changed.  Chris and my boss decided they still didn't like the idea of me coming in to work, even after talking to the doctor, so I am now working from home.  Which is okay.  I don't have to sit at my desk all day, I can wear comfortable clothes and be a bum while I am working.  It all sounds good to me.  It is hard to be as productive though.  I get so sleepy sitting in bed and it's hard to fight the urge to take a nap.  It is also hard to get comfortable with a huge belly and a huge laptop to work with.

I have another appointment Monday and Wednesday, so I should get to have a better chat with my doctor then.  My guess is I will skip right past the weekly visits and have to keep up the bi-weekly visits.  But, maybe I'll be wrong.

My belly measured 35 this week, just a tad bigger than the 27 weeks that I am :)  I always measured atleast 2 ahead with R & G, so 35 really isn't all that big I don't feel like.

Rease and Garrison started preschool this week.  They both enjoyed it and are looking forward to going back next week.  Rease is going 3 days a week and I think it is going to take a bit for her to adjust.  She was so tired last night she was just mean, lol.  Hopefully she adjusts soon.

I'll add a picture next week after my 28 week appointments.

26 weeks

I can't believe that in as little as 10 more weeks we could be having two babies! I really don't think the whole twin idea has set in yet.  I really don't think it will until they are born and I am holding them.

I am feeling pretty good and have been trying my best to keep resting and taking it easy. I actually do not have a doctor's appointment this week, so that will be nice :) Starting next week I go at least once a week for the remainder of the pregnancy.

Johnson's decided late Thursday to come over and help us get some projects done this weekend. We had new carpet installed in the bedrooms on Friday, and Chris and Josh spent Saturday and Sunday redoing the two closets and installing new trim. The bedrooms look great! Abrah was a huge help, and ordered me around to make sure I kept to my allotted 30 minutes of time on my feet. We (and when I say we, I mostly mean Abrah) managed to get the bedrooms cleaned, basement cleaned, baby clothes sorted, washed and put away, baby blankets made, nursery curtains started, and other things I'm sure I don't remember.  Now I just have to find everything that Chris took out of Rease's room before the carpet was installed and get it put back.

G has made the transition to his twin bed, and sharing a room with his big sister. For the most part, both are going really well. Now if we could just get Rease out of a night time pull up and G potty trained :)

**I just went into the kids' room because I could hear Rease back there talking.  She was apparently watching G and was cracking up at his pants.  Poor kid can't keep his pj's up.

Here are a couple of photos of the new carpet, trim and closets. I love, love, love the way it turned out. The boys did an awesome job!!

And, here is a self take. Picture of my big belly :) I should have chopped my head off in the picture, because I've been a bum all day and haven't done anything to make myself look presentable :)

25 weeks

Not much new news to report around here. Chris spent the last week reprinting the kids' rooms and getting the new trim ready, etc. once the carpet gets installed on Friday, we should have just a few things left to get finished up in the rooms.

We decided to go ahead and make the transition to a twin bed for G and he was doing great! Until tonight anyway. He has currently been crying / screaming for an hour. What fun that is, not.

I have been to the doctor three times in the last week and everything is going great. The babies are growing and so am I, ha!  My belly is so low it is hard to find anything that keeps it covered.

I'm trying to spend as much time resting as I can, but it is difficult. I go in to work early and get home early so I usually have at least an hour with them before Chris gets home. Keeping them entertained while I try to lay on the couch is getting more and more challenging.

It's hard to believe that in a week or two I could be in the single digit weeks until these babies are born. I am still hoping to make it until 37 weeks, so hopefully we have a few more than a couple until the single digits, but I'm trying to prepare myself ;)

My belly is big, I will try to get a picture up by next week.

In attempts to get G to stop screaming, I had both the kids on the couch with me a few minutes ago. I think they were both so tired they couldn't think straight because G was talking about having bugs in his ears and Rease was talking about winning a NASCAR race in Florida where she would get a trophy and pour water on her head. They are always entertaining.

Rease is really excited to start preschool. She had to load up her back pack to go grocery shopping the other day.

G all snuggled up after his bath.

Rease doing her best Jase Robertson impersonation. Just kidding, she has no idea who that is. She just decided her head was cold in the middle of August.

The kids with their painted faces. G as a lizard and Rease as a zebra.

23 weeks

For the record, I have no idea what I did to the layout of this blog. One day maybe I will try to figure it out :)

Sunday marked 23 weeks and after what seemed like a long stretch (only 4.5 weeks) we had a doctor's appointment today. This was the one and only 4 week stint between visits for this entire pregnancy. I went today, go next Tuesday to the maternal/fetal doctors and then back to my OB the week after that. I should probably just go ahead and set up camp at the office :)

Our appointment today was pretty smooth, which was great. Both babies were measuring a few days ahead of where they are and were an even 1 pound 6 ounces a piece. We got some really good 3D pictures, but they didn't put them on a cd for us and I think our scanner is broken. I will figure out if I can find another way to scan them. Baby A (girl) is head down so hopefully she stays that way for the duration.  Baby B (boy) was hanging out transverse pretty much occupying the entire upper half of my belly. He never stops moving, ever. It is really crazy to feel like you already have a full term baby in there moving around because the kicks and punches are every where all the time.  My big 'ol belly measures a whopping 30 weeks for a singleton and I've gained about 35 pounds. With hopefully 3 months left to go, I don't even want to know what I weigh at the end of this pregnancy - I just better have some fat babies. ;)

I have a few Braxton Hicks contractions a day, so I am pretty much not supposed to do anything. I can go to work and get 2 - 15 minute activities a day. Get excited, today I scrubbed the silverware drawer and put a load of clothes in the washer. Watch out- it's getting pretty exciting at the Corwin house :) My cervix is still almost a centimeter to 1.5 centimeters longer than the minimum they like to see (sorry if that's tmi) and my blood pressure is behaving, so hopefully I can stick with this "severe resting" limitation for quite a while longer.

That's about it on the pregnancy front. Chris finished his last slow pitch game tonight and has quite a few house projects to get done before the babies arrive. Rease is completely full of sass and things that will crack you up and drive you crazy in the same sentence. G is an ornery 2 year old that insists on racing everywhere and loves to give hugs to avoid any kind of confrontation, punishment, or actually having to eat a decent meal :)

If I can get some of the sono picks up I will  I had to clean off all the photos from my phone because I was out of space, so not much new for R and G either.

Gender reveal

Chris and I have known the genders of the babies since we were just over 13 weeks.  We waited on a follow up ultrasound at the end of June to confirm the genders.  Then, I found this photo idea on Pinterest that I wanted to do, but the two times we tried to do pictures the weather didn't cooperate or I was feeling miserable.  So, 8 weeks later we have the picture and are ready to let everyone know......  Rease got her wish and she has a sister and a brother on the way :)
